RSV...

I was queen for such a short amount of time. I knew I should have kept my mouth shut.

Lil started with a fever by the time I got home. It stayed between 101 and 102 most of the evening and the night. Ibu would bring it down for a couple hours at the most. I was up 3 times with her (I know that is just terrible, but she never wakes up during the night as in ever since she was 3 weeks old). She was pulling on her ears so I figured ear infection. She had a fever for my mom while we were in Orlando and that was due to teething (3 teeth that time). So really, I thought teething or ear infection.

My only option at the clinic for an opening was the crazy polish doctor that I will never go to again. I left a message with the nurse of my favorite PA and figured we were out of luck.

I proceeded to get all of us ready and the diaper bags packed just in case. I had fleece jackets and boots on the twins and was just finishing up the last of 3 ponytails when the phone rang. They could get Lil in for an appointment in 45 minutes. That is exactly how long it takes me to load everyone up and get into town. That was at 9 am.

As the morning progressed I realized Lil was going downhill, but I was absolutely shocked when she said RSV. Lil was pissed off by all the chest xrays and listening to her heart. She just wanted to snuggle. That is SO NOT Lil.

They wanted to give her a neb just to see how her breathing improved because she was in such distress. She screamed!! Not impressed with it at all. That was kinda different since AA just sat through her treatments. We were in the clinic for 2 hours.

Do you remember that I had the twins with me the whole time?

Angels! They were so good about sitting in that little room with me the whole time. Hmm, and what happend while I had to take Lil in for chest x-rays? The PA stayed in the room and COLORED with them. Can you believe that? She felt terrible that she stepped out for a couple of mintues and had the nurse come in to play. Another reason I love my PA.

The pediatrician stepped in for a couple of minutes just to have a listen to Lil's lungs to have a baseline in case she ends up in the hospital.

Lil has been doing pretty good since we've been home. No crazy fevers and she is coming to terms with the nebulizer. I finally woke her up at 3 this morning because she was so restless and her breathing was so labored. I gave her a neb and then she slept soundly for almost 4 hours. She's doing better than I expected. Maybe we caught it early.
