Calf count...

49 degrees. If the weather lady was telling the truth this morning, I think that is what she said. I'm not sure I believe her.

Do you get attached to your weatherman? I do. I didn't know I was. Maybe you don't even realize just how attached you are. It would make me feel better knowing someone else really liked and trusted their weatherman (or weatherperson), too. I'd feel like less of a freak.

Wes had the TV in the kitchen on this morning listening to the weather like normal. I came walking down the hall and I was struck by a new voice. A new FEMALE voice. A new female doing the weather.

"Who IS this chic?"

Wes didn't know. He might not have cared either since I was interupting him hearing the forecast. Never get between a rancher and his weather forecast.

"She sucks. Where is the old weatherman?"

Honestly, I'm not even sure of the old guy's name. But I trusted him. We had a relationship. A relationship built during some rough weather patches. He always pulled us through.

I'm not sure if I can open up to this new lady. Maybe she was just filling in. One can only hope.

If she is here permanently, we have a long and rocky road ahead of us.

On the calf front. We have finally pulled above 50 percent!

6 live calves and 5 dead. Yippee!!!

May the rest of calving season continue to bring us live calves.
