We survived...

The ice storm came through yesterday and knocked the power out sometime between 1 and 2 a.m. The girls, of course, decided they needed to get up early.

And how was I suppose to heat up bottles with no power? How was I supposed to pump without power? Wes considered going out to hook up the generator around 3:30 a.m., but decided he could use some sleep instead. LOL. Not really. Well, he did go back to sleep, but that was after I told him I would just use the Trailblazer.

He warmed up the Trailblazer for me and then I put the bottles on the defrost vents. Just like when we travel. It seemed to take forever to warm up, but the girls weren't too crabby. Then I went out and sat in the garage and pumped this morning around 7 a.m.

When I walked back into the house the power was back on. We made it through and just in time. It was really starting to cool off in the house and we don't even have an emergency pile of wood anywhere. I was starting to thinking about all the wooden things around the house I could use to burn in the fireplace! The cradle for Kylee's new baby is still in the shop in the basement. I bet that would have kept us warm for a bit!

That would have made a very crappy fire! There are plenty of trees in the yard or your table would have worked!!! Maybe you should live somewhere where there is power and no ice storm.......
