I spoke too soon...

Nuts!!! After applauding how well the girls sleep I knew I was in for trouble. Last night this is how things went:

Me: get to bed at midnight (first dumb move)
Tessa: get up at 1 am
Tessa: fall asleep when mom finally picks me up
Me: put Tessa back in crib
Tessa: wake up as soon as I hit the mattress and only fall asleep when mom holds me
Me: wake up Wes at 3 am and tell him it is his turn (I've been up since 1 am)
Wes: throws pillow at wife, but goes to pick up his crying daughter who immediately falls asleep in his arms
Wes: sleeps on recliner with Tessa until 4 am
Tessa: wakes up at 4 am when Wes puts her back in her crib (this child is not crying, just talking very loudy and is wide awake wanting to play)
Me: Get up with Tessa at 4 am when Wes crawls back into bed

I fed her thinking that should put her to sleep, but that only made her more awake and ready to play. I now know why God gave babies such cute smiles. She kept flashing me her smile and batting her eyes so I couldn't even be mad that I was missing out on sleep. She finally went down for two hours between 6 and 8 am. Then today she took her normal naps. Where is the justice???

All I can say is "hee, hee, hee". I think us "moms" can say we've been there!
