Basement redo...

We've been living in this house almost 6 years.  I've used the basement as storage, the office and a spare room.  Wes makes do with the "old" part of the basement  for changing into work clothes and storage for animal health stuff.  We also have 2 chest freezers, a refrigerator and an oven.

Now that the girls are getting older they need a place to play and I need a living room with fewer toys.  The impending arrival of the newest little one is getting me in the mood for cleaning/painting/organizing.  The family room downstairs is the first victim.

I didn't take pictures of when this room was stuffed with stuff and the girls couldn't even play down here.  That would have just been embarrassing.

Here is the "cleaned" out family room.  Note:  neither one of those TVs are connected to anything so we can't watch anything downstairs.  See the turkey butt on the wall?  Up until about 10 minutes before I thought about taking this picture that turkey butt was accompanied by another set of antlers, a pheasant clock and a mounted walleye.

Built in bookshelves are packed with books and that doesn't included any of the girls' books.  Yep, I'm a book lover.
I'm hoping to get this space spruced up in the next week.

Is this where the Baumann crew is going to camp in March?

Angie,

That is the plan. If I can get the family room put together then hopefully I'll get the spare bedroom down there straightened up as well!
