Fall is here and around these parts that means it is weaning time!
Now that the girls are getting older (3 and 1.5 years old) it is being requested that I start helping out again. I'm going to have to get knocked up again if I want to get out of chores. The goal for the day was to round up the herd, sort cows from calves and give the calves their preweaning shots. The next day would entail the entire group being loaded up and hauled to cropland close to home. There the cattle will be able to graze some wheat residue for the next month or so before being trailed home for the winter. By wheat residue I mean, a wheat field that was combined and now has some new growth available to graze. That field was hit with hail so alot of wheat was knocked out of the heads and is now growing.
I loaded up the Burb with girls, snacks, drinks and lots of toys. Then we made the trek out to the Badlands pasture for a fun filled afternoon.

| Lil stayed behind with me at the corrals while the twins headed out on the 4-wheelers with Dad and Papa. |
| This is the line-up of vehicles used to extend the fence and corral the cows into the right place. |
| Who can resist a cute little butt like this? |
| Hey! Are you taking pictures of me??? |
| The cows are starting to come over the hill. |
| And now they stop. Opps. Daddy left the LOUD one back at the corrals with me. Lil kept yelling at the cows which made them stop and eventually turn around and head back the wrong way. |
| Front row seats |
| Strollers and babies in place. |
| Very into the action |
| Moving on from babies to tractors. My girls are well-rounded. |
| TJ, AA and Lil checking out the flare on the oil well. |
| Daddy giving them a lesson on either oil wells or grass species. |
| Huge petrified wood/rock. I'm trying to determine where around the ranch I want to put these. |
| TJ gives it a kick and says it passes inspection. |
At the end of the day, this is how Wes summed up the day.
"A cow with a sore leg
A bull with a broken dick
A calf with a broken leg (this the girls got to witness)
A pickup that won't work
And my daughter peed on me"
Sounds like a busy day...
