October has been a bit busy obviously. I haven't posted in over 2 weeks and I haven't taken any pictures in that time either. Honestly, I feel a bit lost since I've stepped away from the blog. Wes and I have talked a lot about organization around the house. Our biggest struggle is paperwork. Our "office" is downstairs which is a must with 3 little girls that would love to get into all that stuff. But a downstairs office means that it isn't easily accessible to just sit down and type stuff out.
The laptop actually ends up sitting on my kitchen counter most of the time with dirty dishes piled up around it. Safe, I know. We finally invested in a wireless router instead of having to use my work wireless card. That should help a bit, but we still need to tackle the filing of paperwork. Right now it gets "filed" in a pile on my kitchen counter and every once in a while it gets taken downstairs for filing.
We headed back to WI for 5 days in mid-October. The girls travelled great. We are getting into that age again. We were there during the week not the weekend which lent itself to a very different dynamic. The cousins got together for one evening to play. The twins keep saying, "I love my cousins."
My mom has retired from milking. That was very crazy to have her around for most of the day instead of us getting to see her for a couple hours each day. She spent one afternoon with us at an area hotel with a huge indoor waterpark for the kids. I really cherish the fact that the kids get to make such great memories with their grandma now while they visit in WI.
The main purpose for our trip was to present at the Marathon County Farm Bureau Annual Meeting. I spoke on ND agriculture, oil exploration and a ND constitutional ammendment that we are working on. it was a great group of farmers and they were full of questions mainly on the oil industry here.
I'm thankful to my sister-in-law who thought of me and asked if I would come speak.
In other BIG news:
This week I gave my notice at work to resign as of November 4, 2011. We are all so excited yet I'm a little nervous. There were a lot of reasons for the decision to quit, but none more important than the fact my girls are growing up too quickly.
