2 horsies, please, Daddy...

My little girls have their daddy wrapped around their fingers.  There is just no way for him to resist 3 little girls with big eyes and wide smiles.

The horses were finally delivered last night.  The girls got to stay up way past their bedtime waiting for them to arrive.  Our friend, Cheech, arrived with the horses around 9 pm.  That means the girls were introduced to their horses in the dark, but they didn't seem phased by the size at all.
The boys are settled into their new home.  We had to make a quick stop this morning on the way to town for the girls to say "good morning."  They came up to the fence right away.
The paint is 16 years old and named Showdown.

The Appaloosa pony is 13 hands (a large pony/small horse) and is 7 years old.  His name is Garfield.  We aren't so sure about that name.  He is a beautiful red roan and his name might just end up as Red or Appy or Apple or Dumpling (short for apple dumpling).  Thoughts on a name, anyone?
Showdown is being a bit camera shy.  I wasn't able to get good pictures this morning, but I am sure that there will be many more pictures to come.
I caught Showdown nipping at the pony.  Apparently, he didn't want to share the spotlight this morning.

TJ has been going crazy ever since we told her she was getting a horse.  She wants to ride it NOW.  Hard to explain to a 3 year old that she needs to become friends with her horse first.

I am so excited about all of this.  I asked my dad for a horse my entire life and never got one.  I guess all I had to do was pop out  3 little girls and "poof" along follows the horses!

This ranch has been horse-free going on 20 years.  It is going to be an adjustment.  Both of these horses have cattle experience so it would be fun to start using horses for moving cattle in the future.

Yep, Ky, I think you're right. I can easily see more horses being bought in the future. Eventually, all 3 will need their own to ride and we will also need a spare!
