Have I mentioned that our sewer is FINISHED! As in the plumbers came and made it all ok. Things drain the way they should. I'm getting used to the new sound of "correct" drainage. The toilet and the sink and the bath are no longer all connected right next to each other. That means when there are toilet "issues" it won't back up into the tub when the plunger is used! That was a bonus I wasn't prepared for.
The kitchen sink now actually drains. Not that I knew it wasn't draining before though. The plumbers informed us that the pipe actually went uphill and stayed full of water most of the time. Not anymore! HAPPY DANCE!
I can only hope that we don't have any issues with the "old" sewer system that the entire house drains into now. The only issue may come with spring runoff and heavy rains. Wes has committed to resloping the drainage ditch next to the sewer to keep the water out of it as soon as the weather permits. Hopefully, that will be done before all this snow melts around here.
So, Matt, you don't need to bring that 5 gallon bucket next week when you guys visit and Mom, you can come visit in February without any worries!
