Today is National Prematurity Awareness Day. We feel extremely blessed to have benefited from the decades of work done by organizations like the March of Dimes.
The emotions of having the twins born at 33 weeks 6 days will never be forgotten. Things can go wrong in an instant, but we were blessed to work with the wonderful staff at St. A's NICU. You spend each day hoping for the best, but preparing for the worst.
Our little 3 pound 12 oz and 4 pound 8 oz babies made it through their first 4 weeks of life with only minor complications.
It's an amazing experience to see the fight, strength and resilience of such a little human being that is only a few hours, days or weeks old.
Thank you to the March of Dimes and all the health care professionals that continue to "Fight for Preemies."
