Speaking of making cash...

Do you know how much this little guy is worth?

There have been an influx of raccoon aroung here during calving.  They always seem to live in the stacks of bales up at the feedyard.  This calving season called for more windbreak than we currently have in the feedlot so Wes stacked straw bales around the pens the calves were being born in.

Straw stacks + fresh placenta = lots of raccoons around the pens

Every time I drove by and my headlights shone on the stack there would be eyes everywhere.  Wes started shining his flashlight across the stack and saw the same thing at night.

He decided it was time to started trapping.

Lil was SO excited to see the coon up close.

Not an ounce of fear even though that coon is looking at her like he would like to bite off her finger or whatever else might get too close.

Wes had a total of 3 coon in 2 days.  A guy that traps alot happened to stop by this particular morning to talk with Wes.  Wes jokingly asked him if he wanted some coon.

BAM!  Done deal!

$45 in our pocket and 3 less coon around here.
