Well, this post has been sitting as a draft since mid-October though I'm not sure why. I suppose it had something to do with slow internet connection and I got frustrated and walked away.
The trees and colors made me miss Wisconsin and TREES. I came back with a fresh set of eyes appreciating God's beauty though I don't understand why he couldn't have put some of those trees out here. All of our trees grow in straight lines known as windbreaks.
As we were driving we came across this random basketball hoop at an intersection. Although we couldn't see a house from there we assumed some kids must play out on the road! God bless rural America!
The kids had a blast running along the paths in the woods. I cannot wait to take them on vacations to more places to learn to appreciate the differences across this great nation.
In the future we may rethink taking two four year olds, a two year old and a baby to a location with a million steps. They started out enthused, but after we hit mile number 2 they started slowing down and needing to take breaks.
If you are looking for a beautiful place to take young kids in the fall I recommend the U. P. of Michigan.
