Daycare...

I have had a lot of trouble with finding daycare for the girls. It has been interesting to say the least.

Here are two highlights of the type of daycare I found:

The Standoffish Lady-She was never warm with the girls. Never used a sing-song voice or got down and played with them. She never asked anything about Wes and me. It was like she was doing daycare just for the money. The girls were there for 3 hours one day to try it out. Tessa was filthy when I picked her up. I don't know how dirty her carpet must have been or just where she let Tessa crawl. Plus, when I picked them up there were several, I'll say "questionable" characters, hanging out at the house. I was not thrilled that the girls would be exposed to this environment. The vibe I picked up from Tessa said, "Don't you ever leave me here again!"

The Sweet (but crazy) Dog Lady-She was the sweetest lady and was so good with the girls. The down side? She has 8 kids at home...in a tiny house. The place was clean but PACKED. And she had at least 9 dogs...in the house...a tiny house. The chihuahua had just had a puppy. I think there were more than 9 dogs. There were 6 dog crates stacked up...in the living room plus one down the hall for the chihuahua puppy...in a tiny house. Sweet lady, but a crazy dog lady.

After a lot of scrambling, I found openings at the daycare center in town. The girls started on Tuesday while I was out of town all day for a meeting. They seem to be doing great. And the staff already is loving on them. I might have to duck my head in on them over the lunch hour.

All of this daycare talk means that I am back in the office at work. I have a lot of little projects to finish up so I should stay pretty busy in the beginning. But not too busy to update the blog more often!!!!
