Road Trip...

The girls and I made our first big road trip together. On Wednesday we packed up and headed out in front of the big storm that hit the Dakotas. We drove in rain for the majority for the trip, but here we are hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa Baumann in WISCONSIN.

After 750 miles and 12 hours on the road the twins were happy to get out of their carseats and stretch a little. I put them down on the floor and they spent some time rolling and stretching while the grandparents waited patiently to pick them up and give them some loving.

They have settled back into a routine and aren't keeping me up any more than usual. (Except for right now. According to the clock on the computer it is after 3 am. I hope that is wrong.)

We've been out to see all the great-grandparents. None of them knew we were here so I was a bit nervous I was going to give someone a heart attack. I have pictures to share, but I didn't bring the cord to download them. You'll have to wait until we are back home.

I think we will be packing up and heading out on Monday. I'd love to stay longer, but I know there is a daddy back in ND missing his girls (and maybe his wife). I can't imagine how quiet the house must be with us gone. I have gotten confirmation that Dodge is running the house and sleeping on the furniture. She has taken second fiddle to the girls and has adjusted well. So, I'll forgive her for where she sleeps while we are gone.

And yes, before anyone feels the need to point it out, I might be a bit insane to have made this trip myself. Independence never hurt anyone. One of me and two of them won't keep me from enjoying life. It is just a fact of life for us now. Honestly, I can't imagine doing this with just one baby. How boring would that be??????
