A big night...

Last night was rough. Rough on me, that is. It was a major milestone that I was actually hoping to put off for a bit yet. I thought maybe 6 or 7 months or later would be the date. Not 4 months. I remember the first night we laid both girls in the crib together and how little they looked. Just look back at those pictures I took of both of them in the crib.

A series of events has unfolded in recent weeks. First Audrey and now Tessa are breaking out of their swaddles as night. Not a big deal at first. But lately, Audrey has been causing trouble. We are still dealing with her torticolis, therefore, she sleeps on a wedge to keep her head one way. That means when she gets her arm out of the swaddle she hits Tessa in the head and neither one of them sleep good.

Well, you say, just move Tessa farther away. It's not that simple because Tessa insists on moving like a worm until she is RIGHT next to Audrey. Just the other day, Tessa was already in the crib when Wes went to put Audrey down. Tessa turned to Audrey and got a big grin on her face when Wes put her in the crib. It is amazing to see how these two interact with each other.

So, what happened last night? I cleaned out the second crib (it has been great storage) and the girls slept apart. I was so sad. Seriously, I almost cried! They've been together for over a year. And now suddenly, without warning, they've been yanked apart. I don't know if this can continue. They did sleep good last night so I'm willing to try it again if my heart can take it.

Wes had to keep me from going back into the nursery to put them together again.
