We have a scooter. Audrey was sleeping on her belly after tummy time so I let her hang out. The next time I checked on her she was off the blanket and on the rug. So, I moved her back into the center of the blanket. Again, she got herself off the blanket. That tells me I can't just leave her on the bed for a quick second while I head into the other room to grab something anymore.
I'll be heading back to work next week sometime. I don't know exactly which day yet. It is hard to believe that the girls are already 11 weeks old. Actually, it seems like they are older than that already.
Happy birthday to me! Since I can't have dairy products I thought I wouldn't be able to have cake for my birthday. This morning during breakfast it finally dawned on me that I could make a cake from scratch! Who knew? I don't know if I've ever made a cake that didn't start out in a box. When Mom made the girls baptism cakes she froze the extra frosting, therefore, I didn't have to think about making that mess. This afternoon I went through a cookbook and found a recipe that would work. It didn't even call for butter or milk! I thought I had hit the jackpot. That was until I remembered we had breakfast (french toast, eggs and sausage) for supper last night. No eggs. No eggs 20 miles from town. (See Wes, I told you we need to have chickens!)
Wes said he would check at the Manning EZ Stop for eggs. Manning is about 8 miles away. The gas station reopened this spring and they do stock things like eggs and milk. Well, Wes stopped and they had sold out of eggs! He decided since it was my birthday cake he would continue on his journey to Killdeer for eggs.
My cake is now out of the oven and I can't wait to dig in. Wes is watching the girls for me this afternoon so I can get some things done. Fun things like updating the blog, online shopping, and cleaning. Ok, so the cleaning isn't fun, but it needs to be done so badly I will sacrifice some time on my b-day to get to it. And don't think that Wes is making some terrible sacrifice here either. I just caught him playing Madden 2009 on the Playstation. He says he is multi-tasking since Tessa is sleeping on his lap!
