I am still in a bit of a shock to realize that today is my last day of work with NDSU. I've been working for them since I moved to ND 10 years ago. It is a little bittersweet.
I've been busy cleaning my office and computer. I deleted over 2400 emails this morning.
Do you have any idea how liberating that is?
Ok, I did have my moments of panic wondering if I deleted something important, but really, I need to do this for my personal email account as well.
Wes is coming in to town to take me out for a celebration over lunch. The office is throwing a farewell party this afternoon. And then at 4:30 I walk out the door to start my new job.
Full-time rancher and mom.
The girls will have 2 more days of daycare next week and I think it is starting to sink in that they won't get to see their friends anymore.
I'm taking those 2 days to do some deep cleaning at home. Sorting out small clothes and packing away all the summer stuff. I have way more on my list to accomplish than I have any chance of getting done.
I'm looking forward to my time with Wes and the kids without having to think about what I need to get done at work. I'm looking forward to time playing and watching my kids grow. I'm looking forward to not having to drive the crazy winter roads with out-of-staters at 6:30 in the morning.
I'm ready to smile and celebrate the fact that we have a family business that allows me this opportunity to not have to work off the farm! Thank you, Wes, for supporting and encouraging this decision.
