Time is flying by and the girls are already 5 months old. It is amazing how they have grown from skinny, fragile preemies into these huggable girls. Looking back I believe that I was in complete denial about how wrong things could have gone with such little babies. At 3 lb 12 oz and 4 lb 8 oz Audrey and Tessa could have had any number of complications. God was certainly watching over them in the NICU. They were blessed by a virtually easy stay in the NICU.
Before they were born I remember hearing about other babies born at 4 lbs some oz and thinking, "Wow, that baby is lucky to make it. How scary!" When it came to Tessa at over 4 lbs and Audrey under 4 lbs it never crossed my mind to be scared that they wouldn't make it. Now I know how strong babies can be, but I also appreciate how fragile life can be. There is a beautiful baby girl that was born in Bismarck at 2 lbs 4 oz. She is probably over 8 pounds by now. Her handsome twin brother is no longer here on earth, but they remind me almost daily how precious family is. This holiday season I am so thankful for family near and far. I pray you take the time to appreciate each and every family member this holiday season!
